Mission: To preserve and spread traditional Japanese Karate through exceptional instruction

We are members of the International Shotokan Karate Federation (ISKF), a group of dojos and karateka worldwide who practice the traditional Japanese art of Shotokan Karate, as developed by Master Gichin Funakoshi. The ISKF was founded by Master Teruyuki Okazaki, who was one of Master Funakoshi’s students.  Currently, the ISKF is under the guidance and direction of ISKF Chairman and Chief Instructor Shihan Hiroyoshi Okazaki.  The ISKF hosts trainings and tournaments both nationally and internationally.

ISKF is a non-profit organization dedicated to upholding the integrity and goals that Master Funakoshi laid out, including the principles outlined in the Dojo Kun and the Niju Kun.  Rich in tradition, the ISKF also strives to constantly improve and progress, to offer the best martial arts instruction and experience to all of their members.

- ISKF Mountain States Region -

The ISKF Mountain States Region is composed of 14 member dojos in Montana and Colorado.  Mountain States dojos follow traditional teaching and training methods of the ISKF, host regional events including tournaments and training camps, and support a regional competition team that participates in national and international events.  We are administered by an elected regional Board of Directors in conjunction with the Chief Instructor.

The Mountain States Region was founded in 1974, with the ISKF of Colorado in Denver.   The Mountain States has produced many national team members, multiple national champions, and members of the Shihankai.
